Seeing Stars, Seeing Gold. Pan American Champs, Colombia

Despite 2 crashes during the 53KM road race on the final day, Darren still came in almost 6 minutes ahead of the pack to claim yet another Gold.

The Pan American Champs were the last chance to earn qualifiying points for the 2008 paralympics and Darren is coming back with maximumn points. 4 races, 4 Gold medals.

There is Gold on the Road at the Pan American Champs

The roads of Cali, Colombia are paved with medals for Team GB with Darren picking up another Gold in the 15.4 Kms road race and the pairing of Melaine Easter and Frances Newstead taking a Silver.

More Good News From Pan American Champs, Colombia

Yet another Gold for Team GB, this time in the 1KM. Darren was a clear 6 seconds ahead of Daniel Nicholson of the USA. Gold to for the pairing of Aileen Mcglynn, Ellen Hunter in the ladies tandam 3KM.

Team GB is now second in the medal table, just behind China. We have 4 Gold medals, one for each event we have competed in.

Pan American Champs, Colombia

A good start in 3KM saw Darren gain the first Gold, almost 20 second's ahead of Canada's Jean Quevillon and thanks to Aileen McGlynn & Ellen Hunter win in the Tandem 1KM Team GB are joint leaders of medal table with Japan.
