    Hi Darren

You probably don't remember me but I am related to you! I am your third cousin. My mum Chris Fancy used to live with Nanny Kenny and Uncle Bill when she first moved to England from Ireland.

We all used to come and visit Nanny Kenny and Uncle Bill when we were little and you and your mum used to be there as did Linda and the boys and Julie and us children all used to play together.

Anyway I saw you on the news that you had won and just wanted to congratulate you from myself, Mum, Dad (John) and my brother Adrian.

We are very proud of you.

    Hi Darren,

As a big fan of the paralympics I just wanted to congratulate you on your amazing successes in Beijing. What you have achieved is fantastic and is very much celebrated, as your fans back home and of course your family and friends are all immensely proud of you. Yourself and the rest of the athletes competing in Beijing are all true sportsmen and women. Congratulations again and the very best to you in the future.

    Andrew.

    Darren-
A far cry from Pumphreys!! Congratulations on all your achievments! So sorry to hear about Bill. Hope you and all the family are well. Emma and I are well with two boys now George and Henry. Thinking of you mate! Jem

    Hi Darren
Congratulations! You have demonstrated to many families with CP children that amazing things can be achieved and that life contains many things we never dream of - good as well as bad. Difficult to imagine sometimes in dark times.
The parents and children of the Rainbow Centre in Fareham (see our website) would really benefit from meeting you if you would consider sparing some time to visit and share some of your fantastic experiences with us all.

I have a son with CP myself (now 25) and absolutely know how proud your parents must be. Well done - you have achieved the ultimate prize - gold. Please do get in touch.

    Hi Darren

    Fantastic results at the Paralympics...

Where do you train?... Have made a few enquiries about disability cycling clubs in the Hampshire area (live near Ringwood).. Looking to get into competive track cycling in the LC1 class.. Have upper limb impairments... Any advice gratefully received...

    Many thanks

    Regards

    Richard COOK

    Hello Darren

It was great to hear you speaking at the Cycle Show and THANK YOU so much for not only showing me one of your gold medals but placing it in my hand. This was a real privilege and the feeling was magical. It made me sufficiently emotional. What an achievement! Many congratulations on all your achievements. Although I'm in London today I am involved in a work event - I would much rather be watching the procession and cheering on all the heroes of Beijing. Hope you enjoy the day!

Hi Darren, I am a final year journalism student from Bournemouth University. I was hoping to interview you so I can write a profile about you my print project, as you have achieved so much. I am very flexible and can fit around you. I would be very grateful for any help you can give me. Please email me and let me know if that would be possible, many thanks, Natalie Eales

    Hi Darren,
I work for Julias House Children's Hospice in Dorset and we have been following your successes, especially as some of our children have similar conditions.
I know it is very late in the day but we would love to invite you to come and switch on the Christmas lights in Southbourne on Friday 5th December at 5.00pm. The lights cover a house which has become a local landmark over the years and has raised £36k for the charity. Harry Redknapp has usually done the honours but is not available this year.
In the past we have been fortunate to have a lot of press coverage.
We would love it if you could come and you would be very welcome to bring the family although I know it is at very short notice.
If you could e-mail on linda.green@juliashouse.org or call me on 01202 607400 I would be very grateful.
Again, congratulations on your successes and I am sure you are an inspiration to many.
