Tribute to Uncle Bill

"Billy kenny , sounds a bit like a highwayman!" I'll always remember that line.

It's with much, much sadness that I have to write of the passing of my Uncle Bill.
When we were kids we would be round our grandparents on a Saturday, all the men would be playing cards for money, and all us kids would be hoping that Billy would win because he always shared out his winnings between us. That's what Bill was like.
When the bad times came Bill was always there, trying to cheer everyone up and help us through it, even though he was hurting as well.

I have some fantastic memories of some wild nights out with Bill (most of them censored!) , St Patricks Day was always a favorite (also my birthday). Bill loved his music, and most nights ended with song (or two!). Billy was always the life and soul of any party and never went unnoticed. Bumping into Billy always meant a good time.
Work hard, play hard. That's Billy!

Recently he's had his health worries, but he faced them all with courage and his indefatigable will to overcome. I've taken a lot of inspiration from him lately. I should be visiting him for a coffee today but it seems that 2008 is a year of losing good friends.

So Billy, if you've got internet access where you are, I just wanted to say thanks for all the good times, for helping me though some bad times and I hope they celebrate St Patricks Day there!
I'll miss you loads.
Darren
